GSA seeks IT firm to redesign Recovery.gov - San Francisco Business Times:

That’s why the issued a pre-solicitatiobn notice Thursday, informing the contracting community that it will seek an information technology contractor to make improvementss to the site by implementing and hostingthe 2.0 version. A solicitation is expected to be postedrto FedBizOpps.gov on June 15, and the deadline for proposald is expected to be abouft June 26. Specifically, the work will include updates and changes tothe site’s user information architecture and design engineering.
According to GSA’ s pre-solicitation, the contractor needs expertise in project and the abilityto “deliver a website with interactivee data-visualization, and web-application level functionality.” The solicitatiojn also states that the Recovery and Accountability RATB, which oversees stimulus rules and regulations, is open to “recommendations for technology improvements for version 2.0 and beyond, including the hostingb platform, database technology, CMS, programming languages, Work on the site, however, is only available to the 59 contractorsw that hold a position on GSA’s governmentwide acquisition contract known as Alliant.
RATB is putting an emphasisw on meeting the reportinb requirements specified by thestimulus bill, but notesx that “guidance from [the Office of Managemenrt and Budget] on reporting and transparency will continu to evolve.” So far preliminary guidance on reportingt requirements has been given to agencies and although the specific procedures for providing the require data to the government remainss unclear. RATB has outlined some of the thingthe Recovery.gov site should be able to do: Evaluate data quality to provide optimization of large, highlgy complex, rapidly changing data sets. Automate data replication.
